FAILING TO DO YOUR PURPOSE WORK WILL, AND SHOULD, MAKE YOU SICK

Failing to do the work you were born, to find and follow what’s in you that God has called you for will, and absolutely SHOULD, make you sick.

You can convince yourself all you like that you love and are content with the path of your own pursuits, but even the greatest success the world has to offer will not drown out the continual sense of dis-ease which accompanies a life of refusing to say yes to what is in you.

That dis-ease rightly WILL become a veritable cacophony of ailments and troubles in every part of your body and soul all the while your spirit silently screaming as you softly allow the you-est part of you,

to die.

Soon enough, if you continue this path, you will encounter true and undeniable disease, the proper and ‘can’t really ignore it now’ kind.

I believe, and have experienced, that all of this, yes even the worst of it, is something to be THANKFUL for because Praise God He made us with an inbuilt warning system which cries out against a life not truly lived.

In case I’m not being clear, here are some ways I have seen myself and others live a purposeless and misaligned life, if we are – and I hope we are! – measuring purposeless by anything which is NOT truly what one came here to do.

Making millions of dollars.
Being consistent with creative output.
Attaining a level of fame or significance.
Doing work which many others, even huge amounts of others, consider meaningful or valuable.
Creating wild success doing the ‘almost, surely that’s close enough’ version of what they dream of.
Being admired and appreciated by all and sundry, yet going to bed at night KNOWING that once again,

they failed to go all in on what it ACTUALLY is for them.

But also,
because it’s not always a counterfeit dream life created sort of thing,

Repeatedly just not taking action.
Promising oneself it’ll be tomorrow, ‘no really!’.
Consuming endlessly instead of creating.
Being submitted to addiction and sabotage and perpetuating a lie that they need to overcome this in their own strength, or that they somehow will still do the thing in spite of it, instead of calling out desperately to God to cause to be physically manifest what Jesus has already given in VICTORY.
Singing a day in and day out song of ‘I would, but – ‘.

Insert tiredness, uncertainty, doubt, overwhelm, a general laissez-faire demeanour, self-deprecation, soul weariness, and a laundry list of other soul and body and life troubles which are about as real as any of us continue to PERMIT them to be rather than simply standing up in right DECREE,

with the indisputable fact that despite ALL of it, what God has put in us is for us and in fact?

HE will cause it to be.

He just needs our yes.

And that’s the thing, isn’t it?

Sometimes it is OH so difficult to give that yes.

We can see it, smell it, hear it, taste it, touch it, and in that place in our spirit where the HOLY Spirit lives (if we have accepted Jesus) we know that we KNOW that we know that our aligned-with-Gods-purposes yes will pave the way, shift the atmosphere, move the mountain, and cause every last vestige of every kingdom of darkness which has been ruling us to crumble and fall, and YET –

We fail to simply give it.

Instead we wriggle and we wrestle flesh against flesh rather than spirit against flesh and we moan and we lament and despair.

We discuss endlessly with our friends – if they entertain and allow it rather than lovingly correcting and recalling us back to Christ’s truth which would be IDEAL – why we can’t. Why we haven’t. Why maybe we’re not even meant to. Aha!

We find excuses for our excuses one day, then validate and exalt them the next!

We make grand gestures in our declarations about what WILL be, yet still refuse to do today’s work today.

We make vows before God and man, taking both our own word and the Name of God in vain, denying the power of BOTH of these things, which are in fact secondly then firstly the most powerful things we’ve been given on this earth, and then after ALL of that we lay our fraught head down at night and we whisper “God help me to be different tomorrow”, or even just “help me”.

All the while KNOWING, in that place where we oh so doggedly refuse to KNOW that we know,

that it’s not God’s HELP which is the hold up, it’s your simple,
insufferable,
astonishing,
relentless,
devastating,
and ultimately destiny destroying,
refusal,
to just give your yes!

OH, if you think I am railing at just you, you’re new to the way in which I write and the fact that everything which comes through me is a message which is FOR me, and I just give MY at times painstaking yes in order to release it, thus finally taking the step God is calling ME to take as I rally you to do the same!

So since I myself have had to once again walk through this painful fire today, after first resisting and denying it today, being infuriated at the idea of it and refusing to believe in it, eventually and slowwwwwllly becoming even more infuriated with myself for not just DOING it, and all the while KNOWING that all I had to do was give my yes,

then so too do you.

Fair is fair!

And here is what is TRUE –

I wish I could sit here, after decades of doing this thing of wrestling against my own soul before ultimately submitting once more to being the voice God made me to be, and tell you that it gets easier.

That the resistance becomes less.

In fact it becomes more! The closer and deeper you get to purpose the more it is, and on top of that it is not only just ‘there’, a hill to once against climb, or better put a mountain to once again take authority over daily, but it gets worse! More condemning. More vicious in its lies. More insistent that you’re not actually born for this, not this leader or called one, not even a little bit, no not at all!

Because here is what resistance is, in spirit:

It is the lying deceiving twisted voice of the devil, even if it is not DIRECTLY a spiritual thing you’re battling but simply your own flesh. Just think about who your flesh serves, and is of!

So no.

It doesn’t ‘get less’.

Yes the devil must and does FLEE when we resist him. But he doesn’t get LESS. Nor does human resistance 😉

He/it comes back another way. Tries again another day. He continues to and will continue to be the one who seeks to DESTROY you until he himself is bound FULLY and sent away! Resistance often his helpful companion!

Here is the good news:

YOU become stronger.

YOU become trained in the spirit every time you submit to GOD’S Spirit and not your own reason, or the worlds.

YOU gain greater discernment.

And you learn to take your rightful authority in Jesus AGAINST Him, to overrule, overpower and command AWAY his attempts to sway you.

Bit by bit,
you see what the lie is.

The lie is always some version of you can’t, you don’t want to, you’re not good enough anyway, you won’t make it even if you try, you started to late or the wrong way, there’s something about YOU which is the wrong way, it’s not really worth it anyway, and besides, it’s nearly 5 o’clock and there’s always ANOTHER day!

Add your own flavour it’s ALL the same lie.

In its simplest form the lie is that you’re not chosen, or called, at all.

But babe.

Let’s not sum this one up with anything more fancy than this today –

WHAT IF YOU JUST ARE?

And what if that,
is all there is to say about that?

Oh, but also this –

Fighting to believe I can be worthy to be who God made me to be!
