Some of us were born to carry fire, born to burn and live burning, born to simply BE that set alight with heavenly oil which creates a supernatural flame not easily put out.
If my words are for you, yes. You are meant to live burning.
It’s that simple and that complicated.
But really it’s simple, and it also explains every last bit of the endless myriad in ways in which you have not been able to find a place to truly belong in this world and in which, even when you do, you soon enough need to continue on the quest for fire.
The restlessness and perpetual search is not just undiagnosed adult neurodivergence, it’s the long ago diagnosed if only we’d listen cry of a soul who was not made for this world yet who is clearly ordained to carry fire TO it.
The fire of the LORD.
The living pulsing burning moving growing always vibrantly deepening rivers of the Lord in the form of the words He puts in and through you, and calls you to release.
Whatever you wanna call it, being a messenger, voice, vessel, conduit, songstress, writer, speaker, watchman, the underlying is the same:
You have a missive from heaven, it’s one you need to learn to tune in to and be in the dance with God on daily, and YOU’RE COMPLETELY RIGHT that you just can’t seem to settle down and do whatever it is you do (or think you’re here to do!) the way everybody around you does.
Even if they themselves are in the fire and flow of the Lord, walking that beautiful path of righteousness and right destiny in their own life, that DOES NOT MEAN IT WILL FIT OR SUIT YOU.
By definition it will not, because God uniquely created you to be you and to stoke and let FURTHER burn what is already within you.
So when you try inadvertently to quell it, by trying to figure out how to contain it, by trying to presuppose how to direct it in order for it to create earthly outcomes which you assume you’re meant to be creating with it or are perhaps scared of NOT creating …
What you’re doing instead of letting what God has put in you burn further, with even more fury and wonder and awe, having its right effect on the very atmosphere it touches in and through your own life, which would ultimately lead to ALL the earthly outcomes being created which are purposed to be …
Is you’re diminishing. Making small. And forcing to be of this world something which inherently is not and CAN not be.
This is a spirit of prostitution, no need to be shy about it or beat around the bush.
It’s the spirit of the prostitute which calls us to counterfeit our gifts and identity, to seek a pale version of what God has already written for us, seduced anew each day to think that operating this way is the only way to get anywhere, or to be who God made us to be!
Oh Lord, forgive us for our prostitute spirit!
For trying to adorn ourselves,
anoint ourselves,
exalt ourselves,
prepare ourselves,
posture and position ourselves,
and place ourselves where we can only go by GRACE!
For trying to accomplish what only you can and what only you have already given us.
Free us Lord! Free us from the shackles of our own making.
Return us Lord! Return us to the UNCONTAINED blueprint you wrote for us.
And BUILD in us Lord. Build in us a heavenly fire beyond what we’ve dared as yet to experience, that we might truly know and see and BE who you’ve created us to be. Teach us to wait Lord. To do so with certainty, To be still until we KNOW once more that you are God and that the work you’ve begun in us you will surely complete as even NOW we receive that sense of fresh fire growing.
Lord strengthen us.
Strengthen us according to the riches of your glory, with power through your Spirit which shoots through every part of our inner being just as Paul wrote, so that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith and that we, being rooted and grounded in love may have the strength to comprehend what is the breadth and length and height and depth and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge.
That we might be filled with ALL your fullness Lord, and that according to your power at work within us you will be able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think or imagine, for your glory in Jesus Name, Amen!
Lord let us burn again.
Let us surrender,
wholeheartedly,
no longer seeking our own reason,
repenting for stifling you,
renouncing every way in which we have smallened you,
and declaring in your Name that herewith we will be,
simply,
your servant,
your daughter,
your beloved,
SET ALIGHT AND FLOWING WHEREVER YOU TAKE US.
