WRITE THE THING, SAY THE THING, LET GOD PRODUCE THE UNFOLDING

I think one of the most difficult things about being an active voice of the Lord is that so often we can’t see, predict, or in any way assume the unfolding.

Whether it be following that conviction to go speak to a stranger and potentially end that conversation knowing we will never know what happens to them, never know if they end up receiving Jesus, never know what our obedience sparked, or whether it be the daily showing up as a messenger who knows they have a call,

and that dismissing or delaying it is no longer an option.

Writers.
Speakers.
Leaders.
Coaches.
Mentors.
Those who have been sent to BE the walking voice of the presence of Jesus, beginning in your own life.

You might just have to start getting on with it without necessarily knowing where it is going, what the end game is, what your underlying ‘WHY’ might be, or whether or not it’s even really making a difference at all.

Because where it IS going is you walking onward in the path God is causing in you.

What the end game is, is a life of submission, surrender, joy, and receiving by the fire of the Lord THROUGH you, for you, but ultimately for Him.

What your underlying WHY might be is ‘let my life be a worship’, and as to whether or not it’s making a difference?

Stop looking outward and look instead to the place within you where He is speaking even now. Where the fire you long for already BURNS, and where if only you would simply say yes to BEING that burning, without it having to produce or perform something that makes sense in your own or the world around you’s eyes, you would realise that it is everything, everything, EVERYTHING, to simply enter into your day with Him and then release –

what He gives you.

Not for anything that you might gain (referencing the gorgeous song ‘Pure’ sung by Abbie Gamboa, a favourite!), but just to honour Him, give Him praise, and be who you simply, I hope, can no longer NOT admit,

you are.

The one who years, breaks, cries, lives, breathes, and will die, seeking His face and just a glimpse of His beauty.

Do you realise?

I HOPE we can realise.

That what we seek is so often given by Him to be manifest through what WE release.

The book you didn’t write.
The article or post you let fall to the ground.
The words you never spoke.
The sentence you never even began.
The unfolding of heavenly BRILLIANCE through you which never came out.

Because you were waiting to where you could see the means to the end.

You were waiting for a brand to be defined.
For your star to start to rise.
For a bio you finally loved.
For a theme for your reels or stories you could get behind!
For the right conversations to ensue.
And to finally feel like YOU,
knew what you were doing.
How it was building.
And therefore why you should even bother,
showing up at all.

But the whole entire time God was beckoning, and if only we knew that it was THIS simple to answer His call –

Write the thing.
Say the thing.
Release the thing.
BREATHE OUT THE THING.
Be in the dance of it, the thick of it, the swirl of it, the wonder of it, the marvellous crazy of it, the what even IS it, and let HIM,
be the master of ceremonies of it all.

What if,

you believed God had already woven a tapestry for your life?

And that every leading He gave you was part of a heavenly picture He was painting with that life?

That He knew exactly what He was doing when He made you this way?

And that you’re one of His children who He literally made to dance and laugh and play, as much as to rent and wail and command the atmosphere to match His way, with the words, the sounds, the VOICE He made you to be and that in actual fact He never ASKED you to form a strategy,

at all?

What if the strategy was to bless the Lord with the release of the sound He put in you ever day?

What if the strategy was to BE FULLY YOU the way it just is when you stop questioning it, or trying to make it to conform to this or that version of ‘should’?

What then?

Would you have something to say today?

Would there be any way today?

That you could release what He’s given you today?

Or would you need to wait again.

For a tomorrow which never quite comes.

A destiny on hold.

And a voice you know is burning to be let free,

a heavenly fire meant to consume and simultaneously MAKE you,

and which instead you let drain you, because instead of being the one sent to carry and release the fire, you kept and restrained it and every so slowly,

it died.

I wish I could tell you there is an easier way than simply taking that deep breath again, and letting it BE that you do today’s work today, and let tomorrow attend to itself.

And that’s all.
No cute poetic finish to offset the punch for you today.

Just –

Write the thing.
Say the thing.
Trust that God IS producing the unfolding.
