The heart of worship

I believe you know exactly what you’re here to do, exactly what you’re meant to be talking about or creating content about, exactly what it’s really time for you to be teaching on, and exactly what the vision is to come back to NOW.

Maybe not all of the details.
But you DO know.

Because everything we’re truly here to do, as the sent ones who are here to carry and release a living breathing for NOW thing is, at the very same time as it being the new or ‘this season’ thing, a remembrance, a turning back to what it was always meant to be about, a coming home.

It’s ALWAYS just about coming back to what it is meant to be for the simple fact that it is meant to BE that.

Pure worship because you’re coming before a holy God and you can’t NOT.

Your messaging, lit from within by a fire ignited with heavenly oil and which can’t be put out when you stay in those flowing rivers of the Lord, simply one facet of that.

So what is it then?

What is the heart of worship for you right now, in doing the work you know, if only you’d stand still and stare it straight on and admit it, you can no longer NOT do right now?

What is it just?

When you fall to your knees,
let tears run afresh down your face,
finally stop looking with endless desperation and exhaustion at what the world says it must be,
back away from EVERY hoop of performance you’ve been contemplating jumping through again, in the meantime finding yourself clambering awkwardly half in and half out because you KNOW it’s not right but think ‘maybe I must’?

What is it just?

When you let the things of this world grow strangely dim?
When you go so FAR within, that the bit where you were scared of being lost, alone, behind, fades away and it’s simply the fire in your bones which you know,
must out?

What would it be right now?

If you were already that version of you, already speaking and creating and writing and showing up from that place?

Already serving community, and clients, and the world from that place?

Already publishing, and rallying, and battle-crying from that place?

Already waking up and without even questioning it walking forward another day from that place, surrendered, firstly, always, to Him?

This is the work you must ruthlessly protect right now.

This is the fire you’ve been given which you must allow space to breathe and BURN right now.

This is the ONLY thing you must draw breath to make a move with right now, trusting, always, that as you pick your foot up God will light the way, order your steps, and grace you from on high before your foot even lands.

The alternative is you will give your life to distraction.

And when the time comes where the sending would have gone WHOOSH –

you will miss your flight. The train will leave without you. You’ll be running, frantically, to catch up, but even if you manage to jump aboard, you won’t be READY.

The time to ready for where God is taking you is now.

Your work THIS day needs to reflect that.

If you don’t know how, that’s ok. Work it out with fear and trembling with He who does, and who already wrote this day, as part of your salvation and destiny story, for you.
