LIFE IS ONLY BUILT IN THE SPIRIT

The Spirit of the Lord reminded me this morning, and yes this was a reminder also for YOU, that life?

Is built in the spirit in and by THE Spirit and in fact can only come FROM the Spirit or else it is no life,

at all.

In fact – and this may jolt you as it first did me – anything we do, build, create, be, TRY to do a thing with or by which did not originate by faith?

Is sin.
Death.
Deadibones.
Ick.

(Romans 14:23).

Honestly, the best thing to do is to ask God to cause whatever is death in your life that YOU THOUGHT WAS A FAB IDEA to become ashes in your mouth so you can spit it out today!

PS we’re talking about faith in God not … erm … you. But also? Not the thing you think it needs to be.

Will you stop for a moment with me?

Take a breath for a moment with me?

Drop in afresh again today with me?

God has a plan for you and IT IS SO GOOD, it’s a plan to prosper and not to harm you and ALSO, it’s a plan in which you walk as His chosen, called, cherished, anointed, rightly PLACED, and of course fully GRACED,

with whatever you need.

Now here is the thing.

If YOU can identify what you need, you got a you problem going on. Girl I GET it and I do it all the time. But praise the Lord I drop that stuff REAL quick because He shows me, He makes it clear in me, I discern it, and I CAST DOWN THOSE WRONG IMAGINATIONS AND IDEAS.

While this may at times feel frustrating for a heartbeat – “how’d I get THAT so wrong?!” – or cause me to feel lost in the wilderness with nary a stone to step forward on – “NOW what do I do / when do I get to feel secure?!”, what it actually does, beyond that,

is gives me fresh peace.
Hope.
Assurance.
And life.

Because I don’t WANT anything which is not of God and Lord knows I already gave a huge chunk of my adult life to building and becoming death, and the t-shirt SUCKED.

“Life is built by the Spirit” is … freedom. Joy. And an invite into being part of the supernatural unfolding of a supernatural God THROUGH YOU. With the gifts, abilities, vision, and also right desire and imagination He put in you being part of that unfolding!

LITERALLY we are talking about you finally operating in and by the design in which you were created.

The truth is that we, in this space, we are the ones who seek purpose.

We say we ‘can’t stop / won’t stop’. Will do ‘what it takes, no matter what it takes, and then keep going’. Are ‘born for more, and then some!’

All of this has truth IN it, but OH what a prison it becomes, always pushing to get someplace with IN you, BY you, THROUGH you, and FOR you, so that YOU can finally BECOME you.

Actually sounds pretty ridiculous if you think about it.

Purpose is found in one place, that’s the reality.

We can’t find it elsewhere, hype it up elsewhere, prop ourselves up believing it’s elsewhere, and with all the worlds resources at our fingertips and even if we gave our lives for it we CAN NOT CREATE IT.

But we can just receive it,
when we say yes to being the vessel and the voice for,
the one who created us.

Not only does this result in finally being able to go to bed at night KNOWING you lived the day you came here for, but the stuff of true significance YOU came here to be part of?

Will be done.

Spoiler:

This is not, however, where YOU get significance from.

This is not your certificate of finally being ‘that girl’.

Instead this is a joy you get to delight in and be beneficiary of as you steward what is not yours ANYWAY, and bless back to the Kingdom of God,

what is His.

This world is set up for us to consume, and keep on consuming.

To create, but through the lens of death; a mindset that when you do enough you can finally be enough, or that if you wanna be enough you just need to back yourself with yourself.

But we, we came here for GOD’S purpose.

The sooner we put down the idea that we’re going to miss something by surrendering whatever we think OURS is,

the faster we can stop drop and ROLL ON FORWARD with what it ACTUALLY is.

The thing with trying to build life with OUT life is,

it may look like life
sound like life
smell like life
and check every box like life
but in the end?

Death WILL reveal what it is.

The thing with how to build life is,

life is a person.

His Name is Jesus.

His Spirit lives IN us (when we accept Him).

And so why,
pray tell,
would we find Him,
seek Him,
encounter Him,
receive Him,
and then refuse to partner with Him
in ever part of THIS life?

There is no ‘I don’t know how’ here.

There is only,

and then she said yes God,

yes.
