BELONGING

If you are a child of God you have a spirit of belonging over you, and there is nothing the devil can do or say which in any way stops or steals that, BUT –

he sure will do his darndest, and if you, like me, like so many I coach, mentor, speak to, have struggled to fit in, WANT to fit in, feel like you can ever really find your people or place … this is for you.

I heard the Lord say “it’s time to come home”. He wasn’t speaking this for those who have not yet surrendered to Him, it wasn’t about that eternal salvation and coming home, this was for His CHILDREN who are somehow, still, lost or wandering in THIS realm.

“It’s time to come home in the Lord”.

This is about belonging.
The fact that as His child you have full citizenship rights.
Knowing you are PLANTED, PLACED, and GRACED.
And declaring, decreeing and prophesying over your own life that you grow strong roots, bear much fruit, and you ARE that tree in Psalm 1 whose leaf never withers or dies.

Remember that everything already given by the Lord,
must be AGREED with by us in order to see it manifest in THIS realm.

Sometimes this agreement takes a real working out of your salvation in a particular area, a real learning by the Spirit to pick up the weapons you’ve been given, a real PURSUIT of God’s promises enacted in and through you, a real INSISTENCE in the authority and power you have in Him!

Last week God revealed to me a vagabond spirit which I broke off of my own life, and which I believe is relevant for many in my space, and has to do with the discontent, lack of belonging, and always seeking to finally BE, which so many in my space battle.

On the one hand,
it’s been a positive part of being an entrepreneur, creator, leader, wanderer who believes in and grabs hold of possibility.

All of these things absolutely can be in and from God!

And,
on the other hand,
and this is the not of God bit, if it applies to you,
it’s been a wandering spirit, a vagabond spirit, an orphan spirit which tells you you’re still not there, you don’t fit in, you just need to be or do or get to some future place, and leaves you, continually, in discontent, dis-ease, and despair.

The vagabond spirit speaks against everything which is AUTOMATIC and our BIRTHRIGHT in God.

It tells you that you don’t really belong after all.
That you’re not like the others.
Not really good enough OR worthy.
That you need to fight for your right to be here, or even exist.
That God is disappointed in you.
That He thinks you’re not measuring up, not really doing what it takes.
That you’re missing something still, and need to figure it out.
That it’s ALL ON YOU to get finally clear, purposeful, on track, and prove you’re a rightful son or daughter of the Lord.

THIS.
IS.
DEMONIC.

All of it.

And it is a LIE.
ALL of it.

It is also something, if you battle it, which you need to DECIDE to get up out of, disagree with, repent and BREAK agreement with, and replace with the living word of God which says you BELONG, you are WHOLE, you are MADE worthy in Christ, you are on assignment TODAY, and you have fullllllllll inheritance rights baby.

Ugh this is HARD to declare over yourself when everything within you and around you seems to insist otherwise! When proof is plentiful that your life is a mess or you can’t get it together or if you really belonged there would be more evidence!

But as God said to ME on this topic-

“What do you actually think the measurement is?”

Like … what do you think would have to be in place for you to deserve to be content, at ease, and finally truly BEING?

And I knew –

there is nothing.
No mountain I can climb, no task I can complete, no order I can discipline myself to, no tower I can build,
which will cause me to feel content, worthy, and as though I am where I’m meant to be.

I say this from a place of innate KNOWING and also from years of experience having built ‘success’ beyond what most would ever dream or go after.

It don’t get you to the place you already have in Christ!!

The reality is you have to BREAK this stuff off of you.
You have to ask God for personal revelation, and of course stand on His word which says you have ALL things in Christ.

You need to take what you know to be true because you know His WORD is true, and speak it over the top of every doubt, fear, condemning and shaming voice, and also continual pull of the enemy to once again submit to another day fighting to get someplace where God already placed you.

This is not easy when it feels SO real that you still have so far to go in order to be enough, or it feels SO real that everything would be okay finally if only you could get clear on and enact that next step. The lie is KEEP PUSHING, IT’S ON YOU. And it’s not easy to refuse.

But it IS simple.

It IS a matter of recognising that the only striving we need to do is to enter once more into that rest and certainty of Christ (Hebrews 4:11), where we will once again know we are and have FULL status, rights, inheritance, and the highest power and authority in the Universe in us, and that our assignment IS in fact clear in Him!

So … let it be simple.

“In the Name of Jesus I break off and bind every vagabond spirit, every ungodly wandering spirit, every spirit of not belonging in or over me now. I repent for agreeing with any spirit of striving and fighting to be. And I declare and decree and PROPHESY belonging, certainty, clarity, and right assignment enacted by the Spirit of God. In Jesus Name, Amen”.

From there?
Well you gotta wrestle this stuff out with God ongoingly, as He leads.

For me I keep it simple by identifying and naming anything I know I shouldn’t be experiencing as the child of God, then seeking His clarity, guidance, and BATTLE PLAN to deal with it.

Gorgeous this is serious.

Don’t sleep on pursuing the promises of God.
The devil sure ain’t sleeping on trying to keep you out of ’em.
