Here is part of the problem we create for ourselves, often on repeat, and which absolutely does NOT need to be there.
We try to convince ourselves that we can be okay with LESS THAN.
This is not a conversation about how much money you should or shouldn’t expect, believe for, align to, RIGHT spiritually and otherwise, although it’s not NOT a conversation about that.
Really it’s a conversation about simplicity.
Specifically, the simple truth about WHAT YOU SEE INSIDE OF YOU.
Close your eyes with me right now. (Yes, I can absolutely type, at almost full speed, with my eyes closed. And in fact am doing so right now!)
So. Eyes closed –
What IS it gorgeous?
But what is it actually?
I want you to see all the STUFF you’ve been thinking about. Trying to make happen. Trying to DO. Keep up with. Catch up with. And be.
Just see … your busy, full, at times overwhelming, absolutely wonderful because it’s YOURS,
life.
And now imagine there were a big dimmer switch on the wall. Except this one is about the NOISE. The noise of your life, of living it, and of creating it.
Turn it down.
RIGHT down.
PS God gave you imagination for a reason, so let’s USE it! Let’s catch the wave. The one in our spirit, not the one in the reactive parts, the ‘I should’ parts, or the ‘surely I want or need to want or want to want parts’.
Let everything go quiet.
Faded.
And still.
Let it all just simmer.
And now.
In the quiet.
In the still.
In the bubbling up which is beginning within you.
Who are you?
What do you actually desire, in a steady and certain and just ‘yes’ way?
And what are you actually being called to do?
You can write out your answers if you like, or just start to speak them out loud.
Here’s some of my own examples, when I do this exercise:
“I am a writer”.
“I am called to write”.
“I’m here to speak LIFE into people”.
“I’m here to help people remember who they really are”.
“I DO want my home to be more beautifully organised!” (I have a literal Facebook marketplace shop taking up half my upstairs area right now lol)
“I DO want to keep driving a luxury car!” (Something I have gone back and forth on whether is ‘right’ for me to keep doing this past year, after letting years of misaligned self-exaltation take me off path … and now beginning to realise that hey – this doesn’t mean I need to PROVE my holiness with what I do or do not have!)
“I still see myself speaking to large crowds. Stadium sized, even. On getting back to TRUTH, harnessing PURPOSE, knowing you were born with a DESTINY, and saying no no NO to anything which tries to tell you that you being who God made you to be is a problem!”
“I want to publish SO MANY BOOKS. Get them out into the world in a BIG big way! With really fun and bright covers!”
“I want my relationship to be fuelled by purpose, with God at the centre. I want an ON FIRE FLOWING WILD AND FREE union”.
“I want to elevate my health even more, and I know that I can!”
And so on.
And so forth.
Here is the thing –
The dreams which are truly yours, in some sort of way they’ve always been there.
Sure, sometimes something brand new comes along and excites the blinders right off of us again, but even then … it’s a reflection of who we always were.
THIS WHOLE ENTIRE THING IS A COMING BACK TO WHO WE ALWAYS WERE.
Or,
it’s a sinking further into who we were never meant to be.
But that’s not us 😉
Here is who ‘us’ is, and it’s time to own it, but FULLY:
We are the ALL IN ones.
We don’t WANT the lesser, or careful, or proper, or achievable, or societally or culturally acceptable version.
And we know we don’t HAVE to have it, either.
THIS is the kicker.
This is what makes you different from nearly everyone around you.
You KNOW.
Do you get it?
You KNOW.
You KNOW, deep down, MAYBE in the places where for years you’ve been scared to look, that the visions and dreams you see inside of you are real. Available. Available now. Available for YOU.
No point pretending you don’t know!
And no point continually trying to dimmer switch the REAL FREAKING THING.
It’s not going to go away babe.
It’s NOT GOING TO GO AWAY.
So dial it UP. Turn it right up to HIGH. Go full colour wild free crazy, and THEN some.
What is the dream BEYOND the dream?
What would it be if you went so far into the vision you forgot there was a place where you were anything OTHER than right through and out the other side of fear, doubt, insecurity, ‘who am I to’?
And then DECIDE.
DECIDE.
That you. Yes you. YOU get to build that brand. Create THAT movement. Speak THAT outpouring of fiery truth. With THAT fun and vibey edge. As you see THOSE outcomes, the ones which were always really just ‘of course’ come to fruition and THEN GIVE BIRTH TO NEW ONES.
GORGEOUS.
GOD GOT IT RIGHT WITH YOU THE FIRST TIME.
It’s time to be that girl.
So stamp your 6-inch stilletto’d or hot pink cowboy boot foot with me. Hold your head up HIGH. Boobs out. Back straight.
What if you just DECIDED to expect ALL of it?
Yeah, surrender needs to be inherent to that. Duh!
But no more LESS than version.
