SLOW DOWN, BE STILL, AND DO TODAY’S WORK TODAY

God did not design you to run and run and run yet never be.

At a certain point, you need to stop looking for a Holy Spirit hit, to be activated, or lit on fire and firing all over the place and instead just DO TODAY’S WORK TODAY.

Yes, every day gets to be one of encounter with the Lord.

Fresh oil we absolutely SHOULD pursue!

And, also –

the daily hunger for and pursuit of the Lord is a different thing entirely from continually look look looking for where you’re going to ‘FEEL it’ from, and somehow still not taking action.

Look at your patterns.

Look back even over this year so far.

Is this grounded? Steadfast? Revealing self-control, discipline, and other fruits of the Spirit?

Can you hand on your heart say that even though of course it wasn’t perfect, all in all, you did today’s work today?

Do you have the fruit of THAT?

Has the thing been written, recorded, produced, published, brought to market, sent out like the missive God gave it you to be?

Or is it gathering Apple flavoured dust because you just didn’t … feel it, and you switched right hunger for more of God with a mindset of lack that you can’t act unless it’s puppeteered by God?

No need to feel bad, I’ve been there. Repent, renounce, and replace with action in His GRACE which you do already have for whatever He has graced you for.

But let’s make this simple, shall we?

Because what we DON’T want is even one more day passing in which you don’t show up for the life God has given you because now you’re having a back and forth about where that grace of His IS.

Firstly –

You ARE graced right now. Meaning, you have supernatural power pulsing in your spirit right now. In fact, as a Christian, you are never without the grace of God!

Specifically though – and secondly – you are graced for an ASSIGNMENT right now.

Every day you have an assignment, or multiple of, from the Lord.

In your business or work right now there is assignment.
In your household right now there is assignment.
In your personal life right now there is assignment.

This is fact.

As a child of God, every day you live is already written by Him, and He prepared for you good works which you should do. He orders your steps and you are never without purpose, vision, wisdom, in Him!

So it’s not a question of IF there is something purposeful for you to do right now …

But it also needs to not be a continual exhausting question of you trying to figure out or get right what that looks like.

Instead it needs to be simple:

Proclaim the word of God over you. (Proverbs 16:3 is great on this topic, but ask Him to show you verses He wants to make supernaturally alive to YOU!)

And then DO THE THINGS HE HAS SHOWN YOU TO DO.

Sure, you may not have that list handy. Or even a single idea.

But this is where you gotta stop looking through your feelings, mind, or will.

And simply agree that of COURSE He is speaking and directing you from your spirit, and you now receive.

If you have ANY sense at all of being slightly helter skelter this year, running off track or ahead of yourself, or you simply know your days have not been fruitful …

you need to stop trying to frantically grab onto some hypey idea or feeling which will dopamine you into almost imagining you did something useful.

And instead be still.

Slow down so far you lay all the way back.

(I don’t mean nap all day, I mean wait on the Lord with readiness that of course He has assignment for you today!)

Surrender it all anew to Him.

CRY OUT TO HIM WITH A DESPERATE HEART.

You don’t want to keep living like that, right? Then refuse!

And then just … stop.

Exit the train.

DECIDE.

And wait.

Upon the Lord.

Only this time?

You say yes to the still and the small NOW thing which you may be scared will never be THE thing.

it can and it will.

But you do have to do today’s work today.

God did not design you to run and run and run yet never be.
