Sometimes when the thing is not working or showing up, and it seems as though either God’s promises ARE failing, just for you, or that perhaps you totally missed it after all, what’s actually going on?
Is that THIS baby, is it.
I don’t mean ‘it for the rest of your earthly existence’ (well, unless ‘it’ is that godly spouse!!), but ‘this is IT, right now, let’s GO’.
Wanna know what I’ve experienced?
The more something is –
a) OH so it, God gave it to you and you KNOW it, and eep – ! WHAT a yes, but also
b) AUGHHHLLUYW8979869697&&&&&!!!! how on earth and can I really and are you SURE God, and also, you kinda sort REALLY want or have been praying on this thing or an answer which this now appears to be, aka … there is some SOUL shakin’ going on –
The more it flat out does.not.work.
Say what now?! Isn’t the whole point that if God SAID it that settles it? If it’s His assignment for you He’s provided alignment for you? That where He placed you He also graced you?!
I could go all day 😉
And also,
yes.
God has ALREADY equipped us, by His gracing which is supernatural power (the highest!) to do everything He has called us to do.
We literally don’t need to bring anything as far as capabilities, resources, and certainly not the strategy or ‘how’.
But we do need to give our full faith-backed ‘YES’.
“But Kat I did say yes to that thing which I was SO sure came from God, which then flatlined / is flatlining right now!”
Cool.
Me too.
And here’s what I’ve found.
There is yes and then there is YES backed with unshakeable certainty, hope (the in God kind, which IS certainty), assurance, and an expectation that what He said will SURELY occur, as surely as the rain and snow hit the ground, and that that is just FACTS.
Ya know?
There are times when God says something to us, we give our yes and Amen, and bam – ! There it is.
And then there are times, often with the more stretchy things, where we give our yes and … crickets.
The clarity doesn’t appear.
The person or conversation doesn’t show up.
The sales don’t come in.
Nobody seems interested.
The resources you need to bring this thing to life just aren’t there.
Wanna know what’s going on here? What the ingredients to this particular smoothie of uncertainty are?
For sure if you’re any kind of human person it’s some kind of mix of –
- Leaning on your own understanding / applying earthly wisdom or even your own successful past experience (yesterday is not today sister)
- Fingers crossed faith (think about it)
- Conditional faith (I’ll believe it if / when I see it starting to work)
- Performance based faith (it will work so long as I do such and such things)
- Continually moving goal posts which YOU made up (the chopping and changing and adding to of afore-mentioned such and such things)
- Yes-ing God and meaning it in that moment but then allowing yourself to be dominated and driven by a spirit of fear, doubt, lack, uncertainty, self-sufficiency, insufficiency, striving, rejection, disappointment, poverty, lack of knowing who you are and whose you are!
- Failure to STAND ON THE WORD LIKE IT’S A WORD THAT CAME FROM THE ONE TRUE GOD AND YOU WILL SEE IT COME TO PASS, HIS WORD IS YOUR DECREE AND YOU’RE NOT GONNA BE GETTING COLD ON THAT!
Sound like a recipe you’re familiar with?
Yeah, me too.
So now here’s the thing.
And I’m gonna go in hard on that last point, failure to stand on the word.
The word of God SUPERSEDES everything.
This is … law.
The Kingdom of Heaven works on governance.
There is an order.
The spirit realm operates on legalities.
And God’s word overrides EVERY other word. The Name of Jesus, what that Name means, brings, issues, SPEAKS FORTH … is the Name above all names.
You know this!
(If this is for you you know this).
Which means?
We do not NEED to figure out all the STUFF. We JUST need to stand firm on the word of God. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat! Of course this means His Rhema word for us each day, not just black and white words on a page! Which is not even a thing, PS, because hi Holy Spirit!
Recently I was asking God if I missed it on something.
I was so sure. So sure! And then??? Nothing …
‘Maybe I got it wrong’, I thought …
And instantly I heard – “INSIST”.

I know it can feel so wearying to once again pick up our weapons of faith, go to war against the persuasions and lies of the enemy to insist God’s word in and for us comes to pass!
But isn’t it only wearying because we think WE are the ones who need to muscle it through? Or because secretly we’re in doubt and trying to white label it faith?!
If you knew.
And you KNEW.
That you KNEW.
Wouldn’t it be SO FREAKING EXCITING TO STAND FIRM IN WHAT GOD SAID?!
Because GORGEOUS –
Any DAY now could be the day it springs forth. Listen. Look! Don’t you perceive it, NOW it springs forth!
He’s doing a new thing my love.
Forget the former. Consider not the old.
HE WILL DO WHAT HE SAID HE WILL DO.
