I love the scripture in Proverbs which convicts me every time around the reality of what is in my heart.
“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he”.
Yeouch! Or – possible yeouch! Definitely – “Lord show me if there IS something in there I need to get uncomfortable with and give over to you, because you know I do NOT want to be carrying idolatry around or any form of rebellion or stubbornness getting me in the way of who I am in you, and what you’ve called me to!”
It’s a great reminder that we really cannot hide anything from God, but also, if we’re honest, and we let His Spirit reveal truth to us, we also cannot pretend to hide from our SELVES on what we really care about.
But I’m not actually here to sermonise on that … I think the scripture speaks all it needs to on whatever you may need to bring to your Heavenly Father today … and what I want to share right now is another way that verse speaks to me.
A way in which He put it on MY heart today to speak to you.
And that is this:
In God you have a new heart.
He has given you His heart for you, and His new spirit for you. With His Spirit leading you in that fresh spirit of yours!
And what has He put in that new heart of yours, hm?
It’s an actual question …
The truth is that who you are today in God is different to who you were yesterday, likely QUITE different to who you were even earlier this year, and EXTRAORDINARILY different to who you were before you came to know Jesus in the way you do now.
As you walk forward with Him, He continues to redeem your mind … still your soul … speak to you in your spirit … and renew in you the calling and plans He wrote for your life.
For this very day,
and every day to come.
He’s speaking to you now, do you hear Him?
“Be still,
and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10)
I’m talking about the work you’re here to share in the world.
I’m talking about the person you’re being in the world.
I’m talking about the vessel and the outpouring God is calling you to BE in the world.
You’re not who you were.
And as much as all the moments which came before this one may have prepared you FOR this one …
None of them speak over this one when you look to God who makes all things new, who gives life and sends down to the grave, and who is right now even,
causing a stirring of life within you of what it is your life is to be about.
Sometimes it’s necessary, in order to see the work God has already put in us, to set aside every possible thing we thought it was, knew it to be, or imagined it could be.
As a messenger this also includes all preconceived notions of how it might work.
It’s about being willing to FULLY surrender your own understanding,
in order to see His shine.
Thing is, God doesn’t make it confusing for us.
It’s not a detective hunt.
There’s no kink in the hose at His end!
In fact He makes it OH so simple because He plants and waters IN us what is meant to come out of us.
And He continues to mold and shape us into the exact perfect vessel to let it out!
Which means that all you gotta do?
In your socials, your emails, your courses, your sales, your branding, and more?
Start showing up daily as the person who has a heart for whatever He has given you a heart for.
Eliminate everything else.
