“Come,
let’s go on a journey
together
you and I.
Let’s walk into places not yet known
visions not yet seen
and a way of being,
not you.
Let’s dance,
and wander,
meander,
and ponder,
as I show you things beyond
what you could know.
And give you a dreamer greater
than what the world could ever show you
demand
or dangle
in its claw like hand.
For the things which are of this world are not of me, and the things which I have for you are not of you.
In fact I cannot show you
if you refuse to stop looking
at what you had.
And I will not take you
if you insist on keeping one foot IN those things
the other not even quite planted
in me.
I require your whole heart.
Your full subservience.
And a willingness to walk so completely out of your own ideas, wants, imaginations,
that you can no longer even consider
going back.
You cannot hedge your bets with me.
You cannot wait and see.
It will not work to keep hold of what YOU think it should be,
or even of what you do not know how to let go of.
Instead I require you give your ALL to me,
and be bold to walk forward in the unknowing.
The way is not wide, and it is not easy.
It is narrow,
and fraught.
But in me you have rest,
comfort,
sure guidance,
and I will ALWAYS reveal
the path.
So close your eyes my child,
and breathe.
Release that final breath as you turn now completely away from all you could have done,
created,
or been.
Yet none of it,
on path.
Yes you can go have ‘it all’ if you want. Be and do and create whatever you please.
You can build an empire.
Collect ALL the pretty things.
And be acclaimed,
in a world which has no pulse.
Your flesh can be satiated in each passing moment,
and yet somehow never done,
but you can keep going back for more,
give your life for that,
and have a very merry time,
on the way.
All of this is available to you,
See,
you can take the whole world
if you want.
Riches, and please, and an endless loop of validation, oh my!
And if you let your soul be very loud,
and your life be very full,
and you focus very hard,
on the you who you’ve decided to be
you may never quite notice
that it had none of me
and thus none of it
was good
alive
or true
But the alternative is this:
Turn your back on all of it.
Be done with all of it.
Give over all of it.
Trust I have something better than ALL of it.
Your destiny awaits.
Eternity,
on the other side.
The world will never be done with its reasons of why you can’t, not yet, and ‘first just this one last thing’.
But I have come that you may have life,
and have it abundantly,
COMPLETE
and whole.
So take my hand child,
and come.
Let’s walk.
For there is much I have to show you.
And much I’ve given you to write,
on this now unchartered terrain,
we call your life.
I have made you NEW.
And lifted you from the miry clay.
I have set you APART.
And placed you in a high place.
Stop climbing back down,
and going back in.
My grace is unending,
yet eventually
you just chased that one last thing
one too many times
and missed
my everything.”
