STEADFAST. IMMOVABLE. ALWAYS ABOUNDING

Church, we are called to be steadfast in our faith and outlook, immovable in who God is and what Christ in and through us looks like, and ALWAYS abounding in the things which are Him.

Love.
Patience.
Kindness.
Goodness.
Mercy.
And more!

The overflow of the Lord is not just ours to carry, it literally IS us as we live a life sanctified by His grace, yielded to Him, our soul led by His Spirit through us and our body subdued to obey obey obey and BE the walking word of the Lord!

Do you get it yet?

YOU are Jesus’ reward, you and me church! Just as He is OUR great reward, our prize, our evidence that finally, ‘we got there’, by faith!

And today I want to call you, reflecting and inspired by the words of Paul in 1 Corinthians 15, to not let the grace of God be in vain!

(9-10). “For I am the least of the apostles, who I am not worthy to be called on apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

But by the grace of God I am what I am”, WHAT – ! Did.you.CATCH that?!

By the grace of God you are what you ARE, and as the scripture goes on to reference, let God’s grace towards you not be in vain.

Now let’s unpack this. With SERIOUS attention and intent.

Who you are, who you really are, is not something for you to decide, seek approval for or validation of, work your way towards being worthy of being or allowed to be, and also not something for you to be cautious of stepping forward in in case you –

• Got it wrong
• It turns out it’s too much
• It doesn’t fit the formula of whichever people group or industry you’re aligning yourself with … and I hope that THAT is with intention, and PS also if it DOESN’T fit then should you be?
• You’re scared it won’t work
• Everybody will find out you don’t know what you’re doing and you just made it up

Girl! The whole entire point is that if you’re walking forward in your God-given calling you do NOT in fact know what you’re doing, because it’s a supernatural thing which is beyond you!

Please book yourself in for a butt-kicking wake up call stat if you DO know how to see the full vision inside of you come to life! Unless you like and want that 2D ole thing?

Now as for you making it up.

• That you’re born to be a leader
• Born for more in general
• Have a bold voice which should be rightly pouring out
• ‘Should’ be / say / roll forward with all that

You.
Did.
Not.

But GOD did.

“By the grace of God I am what I am”, and that is despite my brokenness, my sin, and also my flagrant and reckless and even harmful denial OF that true identity.

Can I tell you that a word from God I have for you right now is that it is harmful to deny the identity He gave you by being a dialled down version of that?

It is harmful to yourself and others, and irresponsible to the Kingdom, to be anything OTHER than the unapologetic, bold, fierce, ‘too much’, or simply who and how YOU are, how you would be in your messaging, if you knew,

you are covered
favoured
cherished
chosen
wanted
needed
exalted
accepted
and seen.

Think about it. If you knew all those things were true from the world around you, would you or would you not show up unapologetically, fiercely, and fully with what’s inside of you?

Let’s not be coy here,

YOU’D BE OWNING IT LOUD AND PROUD AND ALL THE WAY AROUND.

So why do you not,
when you have all those things in and by God,
and when indeed those things are not truly possible, not possible in any true sense at all, outside of God?

Why are you still looking for the approval of man to be who God brought you here to be?

Why are you still measuring your identity against your own past or even recent or even right now thoughts or behaviours?

Why are you denying the fullness of what Jesus did on the cross, and what that means for the death of your natural self and the rightful resurrection and seating in heavenly places of your spiritual self, to whom, by the Spirit of God, your natural should be subject?!

Repeat with me:

It’s the grace of God that makes me who I am.
By the grace of God I am who and what I am.
I repent God for being anything less than who I am!
I repent Lord for trying to figure out who I am, or how much of me is right to be right now!
By the grace of God I am who and what I am and I’m now gonna be it!

But how to be it?

“Nothing can replace time in my presence, and you are learning now. There is nothing you can (truly) create outside of me and nothing you should.

The things I have for you are plentiful, and beyond your current scope of what you can see.

The way this will come about is through REST, and resting in me“.

This is a word God gave me personally in July.

I’m sharing it with you because it is also for you right now.

Is this easy? Personally I find not so much. My mind gets fearful or impatient or insistent it knows or needs to know the best way. I think and dream and scheme of all the things I could do, should do, absolutely have to do, ‘or else!’

But is it easy? Actually yes. Personally I find yes. So long as I go into the presence of God, go straight into the presence of God, do not pursue anything except the presence of God, until it overtakes me, becomes me, makes me, and in that He SHOWS me,

the way.

This, I find, is the discipline I need, to walk the right path by grace of destiny. Otherwise I am just another resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 1 Corinthians says this is what a voice without love is, but love IS Jesus and Jesus IS love and so if I release or say or write or impart or try to create anything that didn’t flow FROM Him by Him in Him and to Him then no,

it has no useful sound.

I don’t know about you, but I find this very very evident, when I try to do it. I can feel the lifelessness in what I’m creating, even if it sounds good or even great from a so-called ‘value’ perspective. I thank God for that discernment, even as I often ‘forget’ I HAVE to put His presence first, and get frustrated at why nothing seems true, real, or as though I should do it.

We are called to remain steadfast. Immovable. ALWAYS abounding, always overflowing, always fruitful.

How do we do this in our work?

We go first to the place where those things are, and only then,

should anything come out of us to the world.
